- Itinerary:
Six-night cruises go from La Paz to islands, sea mounts and whale lagoons
in the Sea of Cortez. The itinerary is flexible depending on the wishes
of the group. Whale-watching and natural history cruises are offered from
January to May. The June to December trips cater to scuba divers.
- Cabins: 7.
All cabins are above deck with air-conditioning and have upper/lower bunks.
Four cabins have three or four beds, a sink in the room, and share a shower
and toilet with adjoining cabin. Three cabins are smaller, do not have a
sink, and share a bathroom/shower.
- Facilities and
Activities: From January to March guests view gray whales and humpback
whales as they visit Baja as part of their annual migration. From March to
April the vessel seeks blue whales. Later in April and in May it looks for whales such as sperm, fin, and pilots that frequent
the area. In addition to whale-watching, passengers visit islands for nature
walks and snorkeling. In May and June there are special expeditions to encounter
whale sharks, using a spotter airplane to direct the dive boat to the feeding
areas. (The whale sharks feed at the surface so scuba equipment is not necessary
and passengers can swim with the whale sharks.) The vessel is often used by families, museums and clubs.
There are special family trips for diving, kayaking, and wildlife viewing.
